The short version
- There are no PageMelo accounts and no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on pagemelo.com or in the editor.
- Payments are handled by Gumroad. Your card details never reach us.
- We don’t store your website. What you type and the photos you add stay in your browser and in the zip you download.
- When you publish, your site goes straight from your browser to your own Netlify account.
What we receive, and why
When you buy
Gumroad processes your payment and shares your purchase with us: your name, your email address, what you bought, and your license key. We use these to give you access, to help you when you contact us, and to keep records the law requires.
Free downloads from our Gumroad store (like our free portfolio guide) work the same way: Gumroad shares your name and email address with us. We may email you about PageMelo now and then, through Gumroad, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
When you unlock the editor
Your license key goes from your browser to a small function on our website, which asks Gumroad whether the key is valid for that design and whether its purchase was refunded or charged back. We don’t store the key or the answer. Your browser then remembers that the design is unlocked, so you don’t need to type the key again.
When you email us
We keep your messages so we can answer you and help with anything that follows.
When you visit pagemelo.com
Our website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep them secure. We don’t add analytics, advertising or tracking of our own.
Your website and your work
- While you edit, a draft is kept in your browser’s storage on your device, including the photos you add. It isn’t sent to us.
- Download creates a zip on your device. We never receive it.
- Publishing: you connect your own Netlify account. The one-time sign-in code from Netlify passes through a function on our website once, to finish connecting. The access it gives is kept only in that browser tab’s memory while you work, and is never stored or logged by us.
- Your site is created and updated in your Netlify account, straight from your browser. Its address is remembered in your browser and in your zip, so you can update it later.
Services we rely on
- Gumroad: payments, license keys and receipts. Gumroad’s privacy policy
- Netlify: hosts pagemelo.com and its small functions, and hosts your site in your own Netlify account under Netlify’s terms. Netlify’s privacy policy
- Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare): fonts and icons your browser loads for our pages, the editor and the designs. These providers receive your IP address when your browser loads them. Google’s privacy policy
Your own website’s visitors
The website you make is yours, and you decide what goes on it. Like pagemelo.com, the designs load fonts and icons from Google Fonts and other public libraries. If your site collects anything from its visitors (for example through a booking link you add), you may need your own privacy notice.
How long we keep things
We keep purchase records and emails for as long as we need them to support you and as long as the law requires. Gumroad keeps its own records under its own policy.
Your rights
Under the Philippines’ Data Privacy Act of 2012, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (unless we must keep it by law), and object to how we use it. Email hello@pagemelo.com. You can also contact the National Privacy Commission.
Children
PageMelo is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
